AI agents

Let Claude Code or another AI agent make your widget interactive, through the UEFN MCP, without the editor.

World UI Kit comes with a skill for AI agents. With UEFN open and its MCP server running, an agent can take a Widget Blueprint of your project and do the whole job: find its buttons, write the layout and logic files, create and bind the WBP fields, build, place the components and start a session. You describe what each button should do.

What is in the package

The AI folder of the download holds:

  • world-ui-kit/: the skill. SKILL.md is the workflow; references/ the details (layout format, WBP fields and bindings, UEFN MCP tools, pitfalls); scripts/wuik.mjs the layout editor of this site as a command line (Node 18 or later, no dependency).
  • AGENTS.md: the same instructions for other agents (Codex, Cursor, Gemini…).

Set it up

Install the skill

For Claude Code, copy AI/world-ui-kit into .claude/skills/ in your project folder (or in your user folder, to use it everywhere). For another agent, copy AI/AGENTS.md and AI/world-ui-kit next to your project and point the agent to AGENTS.md.

Turn on the UEFN MCP

Open your project in UEFN and turn on its MCP server: the agent talks to http://127.0.0.1:8000/mcp. Install the kit first (Installation).

Ask

For example: "Make WBP_Shop clickable in the world. Buy gives the sword, the three skins are choices, Close hides the panel." The agent reads the widget, shows you what it found, asks when something is ambiguous, then builds it.

How it works

The skill runs the same code as the online editor:

node scripts/wuik.mjs analyze tree.txt --out layout.json # the buttons, sliders and checkboxes of the widget
node scripts/wuik.mjs generate layout.json --out gen # <wbp>_layout.verse and <wbp>_logic.verse
node scripts/wuik.mjs fields layout.json # the WBP fields to create, and what to bind them to
node scripts/wuik.mjs check my_wbp_layout.verse # reads an existing layout file back

analyze reads the widget tree that the UEFN MCP prints (GetWidgetDescription), or the hierarchy you copy with Ctrl+C in the Designer. The agent then sets the kinds (toggle, choice, slider…) from what you asked, generates the files and writes them into your project. The logic file is never overwritten once it exists: it holds your actions.

Build your widgets with real buttons (UEFN buttons, Custom Button): the agent finds them directly, and the same WBP also works on screen.

Shared UEFN

A push or a new session restarts the game for everyone using the editor. The skill tells the agent to ask before pushing.
